SAP to Zoho Books, starting with an honest look at what fits
For companies whose SAP has become heavier than the business needs. We review each module you use, tell you which ones move cleanly to Zoho Books and which need another answer, and then migrate the finance data.

When Zoho Books is the right move from SAP, and when it is not
We would rather say this before the project than during it.
A good fit
Zoho Books replaces SAP well when finance, sales, purchase and stock are the core of what you use.
- Trading, distribution and service companies on SAP Business One
- Subsidiaries and branches that need lighter books than the group ERP
- Teams paying for licences and support they barely use
- Businesses that want to change a report or a workflow without a consultant
Needs a closer look
Some SAP setups ask more than an accounting system should carry. We review these case by case.
- Multi-level production planning and MRP
- Heavy plant maintenance or quality management
- Group consolidation that must stay inside SAP
- Deep custom add-ons your operations depend on
SAP's finance objects, and their place in Zoho Books
This is the mapping for SAP Business One. For SAP ECC and S/4HANA the finance data follows the same route through exports.
How an SAP migration runs
Six steps. The scope review comes first and stands alone, so you can stop there.
Scope review
We list the modules, add-ons, reports and integrations you actually use, and mark each one as direct, rebuilt or out of scope.
Design
Chart of accounts, tags, approval rules, document formats and user roles are agreed on paper.
Build Zoho Books and what sits around it
Books, Inventory if needed, workflows, custom functions and reports.
Migrate
Masters, open items and opening balances. Transaction history for the years you choose.
Parallel month
One month-end is closed in both systems and the results compared line by line.
Switch and support
SAP is kept read-only for reference. We stay through the first quarter close.
Questions finance heads ask about leaving SAP
Which SAP products do you migrate from?
Mostly SAP Business One. We also move finance data out of SAP ECC and S/4HANA for subsidiaries and business units, working from exports your SAP team provides.
Can Zoho Books handle our transaction volume?
Zoho Books suits small and mid-sized businesses. During the scope review we check your monthly document counts against the limits of the Zoho plan, and say so if you are too large for it.
What about our custom reports and Crystal layouts?
Document layouts are rebuilt as Zoho Books templates. Management reports are rebuilt in Zoho Books or Zoho Analytics. We list them all in the scope review so none are missed.
Do we lose our SAP history?
No. Open items and balances move across, with as much transaction history as you choose. SAP stays available read-only, or its data is archived for audit.
Is this a replacement for a full ERP?
For many trading and service businesses, Zoho Books with Zoho Inventory covers what they used SAP for. For complex manufacturing it may not, and we will tell you.
Moving from a different system?
The same team handles each of these. Every one ends with balances reconciled against the system you are leaving.
Ask for a scope review
Tell us which SAP product you run and roughly what you use it for. We will call you back to arrange the review.
- A written scope review, module by module
- A fixed price and dates after the review
- A clear answer if Zoho Books is not the right fit
- No change to your SAP system at any stage
